The Killers' second Madison Square Garden performance featured Bruce Springsteen as a special guest last night (October 1)
The renowned New York club hosted the second of two performances by Brandon Flowers and company in support of their albums "Imploding the Mirage" and "Pressure Machine."
During the performance, Springsteen and bandmate Jake Clemons, the saxophone nephew of the late and venerable E Street Band member Clarence Clemons, took the stage to sing their 2021 duet, "Dustland," as well as their songs, "Badlands" and "Born To Run."
Springsteen told Flowers about The Killers and their live performance in 2020, "That's a hell of a band. "I may have caught you recently at Glastonbury because the band was so excellent. You guys have created such a fantastic live performance. Definitely worthy of pride.
The Killers have been introducing a lot of special guests to the stage during their current US tour. While the opening night at Madison Square Garden (September 30) greeted a short Smiths reunion, bassist Andy Rourke joined support act Johnny Marr to sing the Smiths classics "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" and "How Soon Is Now?" when the tour began in August.
Lindsay Buckingham performed on stage with The Killers earlier in the tour when they covered the Fleetwood Mac song "Go Your Own Way."
The Killers' joint US tour with Johnny Marr will continue at Boston's TD Garden on Wednesday, October 3, and will last until mid-October, when it will conclude with a performance in Washington, D.C.
